Trey Grayson's Choice

Trey Grayson would probably rather forget that he was a Democrat who actively supported Bill Clinton for President in 1992.  Granted he was young (20) and in college.  However, one could make the same arguement today that he is very young, only 37, to be a U.S. Senator.  Perhaps it would be better to give Trey a few more years of maturation before being elevated to such a high office.  Just last year Mr. Grayson was a featured speaker at Eastern Kentucky University’s participation in the left wing global warming crowds “Focus the Nation” teach in.  Mr. Grayson may need a few more years to work out his political leanings.

Seeing anyone challenge a young man for being liberal is as desperate as targetting an older one for being conservative. It is how it should be…

I have no problem with a young man attempting to embrace his roots of being a Democrat here in Kentucky. I too was a young not so well informed Democrat. Yet, with living life and growing to a point to understand some realities; I find myself a Republican. Not by choice, much like Ronald Reagan said, “I did not leave the party the party left me.”

Now this is not an endorsement for Mr Grayson. I’m still a bit upset with his ambition seen when he played with a swarm of liberal news guys about the idea of running for Governor against sitting Governor Ernie Fletcher.

He is in Frankfort like many young men, for a career. I would rather have young men go to Frankfort to leave more of themselves than they take away.

    Together we grow!

Why do you guys continue to trash Trey. You are supporting a complete unknown. You voted against Mr. Paul and his group at the last convention cycle in our state but now you are all for him. Come on…Remember the bottom line is who can keep this seat for the Republicans come November and I believe that person is Trey Grayson a proven vote getter in this state.

Faith you read too much into the post. We do not trash Trey. He has been a good Secretary of State. However, having an (R) after your name isn’t enough these days and a primary is the only time we have to voice our opinions about who we feel would best represent Kentucky in the U.S. Senate. Remember, thats why we have primaries. Some of us simply favor a strong conservative candidate. Trey is young, started out as a Democrat, has no real record on serious conservative issues and gives the impression of being a career politician to many. We wish Trey the best and support him, he is just not our first choice for the Senate. Perhaps you missed the events of the last 6 months. People are generally fed up with career politicians making deals to keep their jobs. If as you suggest, the bottom line is to keep the seat for the Republicans, then it would appear that Rand Paul, a physician, is in a much stronger position to be elected in this environment. Finally, you confuse Ron Paul with Rand Paul. They are not the same people. If you ask for fairness, you should also give it and judge everyone as individuals and on their own merits. Many Republicans, including myself, were not strong supporters of George H.W. Bush but did rally for George W. Bush.
