One of the most enjoyable shows over the weekend for me is The Huckabee Show. Gov. Huckabee offers sincere, honest, and down to earth analysis and opposing perspectives. I value his interesting choices of music and the variety of subjects he approaches. Read more

I continue to be amazed that Wikileaks head Julian Assange is still breathing.  This is a guy who has effectively declared open war on the United States.  He continues to undermine American military security and our diplomatic operations.  There is little doubt that he has increased the danger to our troops in the field.  That we haven’t erased this joker and his treasonous American accomplices is a travesty.  But equally curious to me is that in all the talk about Assange, I haven’t heard anyone point out that, in addition to imperiling us all, he’s also undermining democracy. The city of Louisville has cared for its citizens since the 1820s. At that time, the city established the first hospital to care for all, regardless of ability to pay. This care has continued to the present through Louisville General Hospital and now the University Of Louisville Hospital. In the past three decades, extension has occurred through the Family Health Centers and Park-Duvalle Centers.

No Politics Today

Yesterday the (Associated) press again demonstrated its inability to report a story accurately.  The main stream medial reported that the Pope condoned the use of condoms in some circumstances.  The story arose from a book soon to be published based on an interview with Benedict by a German journalist.  The journalist asks Benedict about the Church’s opposition to the use of condoms to stop the spread of AIDs in Africa.  Read more

The furor over the intrusive airport security procedures continues and fortunately more people are being enlightened about the absurdity of these protocols.   I wonder if those of you who are willing to relinquished your personal privacy for the sake of a sense of security on a plane have truly thought about it or about what these kinds of procedures can mean for millions of law abiding citizens who have medical problems which can be embarrassing for them and they wish to keep private. I completely agree with John Tyner that intrusive radiologic imaging and crotch searches should not be a prerequisite to getting on an airplane. Why not cavity searches – rectal exams for men and rectal and vaginal exams for women? I guess we just need one terrorist to put nitro or C4 in their rectum or vagina before that will be the next requirement. Ever since that moron in France used his shoe, million and millions of us have had to remove our shoes every time we get on a plane. Why not the same security for a train? Now Mr. Tyner is being fined $10,000 and a civil suit for refusing the search even when he politely stated that he would simply cancel his trip if they would not allow him to go through the metal detector like everyone else.

Remember all the Lefty hullabaloo about the USA Patriot Act?  George Bush and John Ashcorft were going to be screening all the books you checked out at the local library and such.  It was a civil rights abuse, they screamed!  So, um, where are the Lefty protests and marches in the streets about the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) looking at you naked or groping you (if you refuse their porn-scans) before you can get on a plane? The sheer idiocy of our government, the media and a public so dumbed down by public education most haven’t the sense to come in out of the rain much less know where the blame should be placed when it comes to airport security is astounding. Read more

In case you’ve missed it, Kentucky’s new senator-elect, Rand Paul, is already casting a big shadow.  In a recent interview on ABC News with Christiane Amanpour, Rand practically toyed with her as one would with a cat and a string.   Rand set out in the clearest fashion answers to all questions and blocked Amanpour from her typical liberal agenda.
