Trey Grayson has run an unusually negative campaign considering this is a primary within his own party.  He has been particularly focused on painting Rand Paul as siding with terrorists!  He repeats one line of Dr. Paul’s taken out of context, ad nauseam.  His ads play part of a Rand Paul comment that he would ‘send the terrorists’ in Guantanamo back to the battle fields’.  The full comment by Dr. Paul was a response to a question about how to deal with the detainees in Gitmo.  Dr. Paul answered that he would try them in military tribunals and not civil trials.  He than goes on to further say that “if we can’t convict them” he would send them back to the battle field in Afghanistan rather than allowing them to stay in the United States. Sounds like a reasonable plan.  Grayson leaves out the important “if we can’t convict them” part of the statement.  Grayson should have remembered Reagan’s 11th Commandment and God’s 9th.  All Republicans will need to come together in November to win.  However, once these kinds of negative attacks start, Dr. Paul will be forced to defend himself and retaliate in kind.  That’s politics.

The NY Times continues to make absurd false claims about Pope Benedict during Holy Week.  In yesterday’s Times, columnist Maureen Dowd said that Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now the pope, “ignored repeated warnings and looked away in the case of the Rev. Lawrence C. Murphy, a Wisconsin priest who molested as many as 200 deaf boys.”  Let’s look at the facts of this accusation.  Read more

The Left is attacking the Pope again and now trying to smear him with the sex abuse scandal.  As a life long practicing Roman Catholic and a good friend of my Evangelical Protestant brothers, I can assure you that this is groundless and just another attempt by the Left to destroy the Church’s unyielding stand for Life and the traditional family.  Don’t let them do it!  Read more

Rep Jim Wayne (D) of Louisville complained the other day about citizens carrying guns in the state house.  “We are, in fact, sitting ducks” he is reported to have said.  Mary Lou Marzian (D) and Greg Stumbo (D) also complained about firearms in the state house and are considering a gun ban.  Carrying an openly exposed, non-concealed firearm is a constitutional right and legal for visitors to the Capital.  Concealed carry is prohibited for citizen visitors but allowed for the lawmakers themselves.  Once again the hypocrisy; lawmakers exempt themselves from the very laws they require of the rest of us.  Why do Democrat legislators fear the citizens they represent?  Why do Democrats object to citizens exercising their Constitutional rights?  Perhaps, if they would stop trying to repeal our Constitutional freedoms and liberties they wouldn’t feel so worried?

The overwhelming will of the U.S. people has been thwarted.  The Democrats, all liberals, socialists and Marxists, have done what they ALWAYS do when in power; thwart the will of the people.  Read more

Last night’s vote in the House of Representatives is certainly ironic since it does not represent the will of the American people but it does seal the continued slide of the United States into national decline as so many other civilizations in history.  Read more

Unfortunately our wishful thinking that Bart Stupak would hold the line and be a principled man like William Wallace of Braveheart was unfounded.  Stupak has caved and more accurately resembles Robert the Bruce betraying his countrymen to the likes of Barack Longshanks.  This is likely to go down as one of the darkest days for the cause of freedom and liberty in the United States as Democrat party forces their socialist agenda on an objecting American populace.  It is a disgrace!!

A good summary of the anti-life aspects of the Senate Health Care  Bill from Catholic Vote

The Senate Health Care Reform Bill spends taxpayer dollars on health care plans that fund abortions, spends $12 billion on Community Health Centers that Planned Parenthood will be eligible for, gives the Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius the right to declare abortion as a pre-existing condition to be covered under every health care plan in the federal exchange under the Mikulski Amendment, eliminates conscience protections for insurance providers and fails to ensure them for doctors and nurses, trip-wires the direct funding of abortions if external legislation is repealed, and forces everyone including men and old women to pay at least $1 (to be raised under jurisdiction of Congress) to a fund for “reproductive rights” that will cover 100% of the cost for anyone who gets elective abortions. To say that the Senate Health Care Reform Bill is the greatest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade is an understatement.
