President Obama announced that all combat troops will be out of Iraq by Aug 31, 2010, leaving up to 50,000 troops until the end of 2011 when all troops will gone, as had been previously agreed to by President Bush with Iraqi leaders.   During his speech, Obama credited troops who “got the job done,” but gave no credit to the troop surge and Bush strategy shift that he opposed in January 2007.  Read more
