Democrats Pass Obama Economic Package
Filed Under National | Leave a Comment
The Democrats in the House of Representative passed President Obama’s massive economic stimulus package approaching a trillion dollars. The bill was passed despite bipartisan objections to the enormous spending and clear inclusion of pork. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that it will increase the budget deficit by $820 billion dollars. Not a single Republican voted for the bill and 11 Democrats defected and voted against it.

A Solution for GITMO
President Obama appears to be keeping his wrong headed promise to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center which holds captured terrorist combatants. The problem, as those who opposed this warned, is what to do with the prisoners (i.e. release them so they can attack us again or move them to a prison on the mainland). A possible solution would be to reopen the Alcatraz prison in the San Francisco Bay and move all of the prisoners there. Nancy Pelosi and her liberal constituents who had been so concerned about the welfare of the terrorists can now have them right there where they can take good care of them. In addition, San Francisco lawyers will be close at hand to expedite their defense.

One of the final regulations President Bush pushed through at the end of his administration was a “right of conscience” law that allows medical providers to refuse to offer any practice they find morally objectionable, including abortion and other reproductive-health procedures. President Obama is trying to recind that law. It appears doctors don’t deserve a freedom of choice under the new Obama administration.
