The Democratic National Committee Rules and Bylaws Committee will meet Saturday in Washington, D.C. to decide the fate of the Michigan and Florida delegates.  They will be facing a difficult decision.  The rules agreed to by both the Obama and Clinton campaigns prior to the primaries threatened both states that their elections would not count if they moved up there primaries.  Both states did move their primaries to earlier dates.  Senator Hillary Clinton won both states, however, neither candidate campaigned in either state nor was Senator Obama even on the ballot in Michigan.  If the rules are followed, those state delegates will not be seated at the DNC convention and will not be counted.  Since the Democratic primary has been so close, those delegates could play a crucial role in deciding the winner.  Read more

The bicentenial of the birth of Abraham Lincoln is quickly approaching.  Andrew Ferguson of the Wall Street Journal commenting on the Lincoln Memorial gives an insightful interpretation of the significance of this great monument and why Lincoln deserves such a memorial.  Even at its opening in 1922, there were the habitual modern day critics of the monument.  Ferguson concludes that the importance of the Lincoln Memorial is self evident in the words of the Gettysburg Address etched on the wall to the right of Lincoln.  It is the reminder of our country’s founding proposition that all men are created equal.

Senator Hillary Clinton used the example of Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination in June of 1968 just prior to the Democratic Convention as an explanation why she is staying in the race for president today. Later in the day, Senator Clinton apologized for the remarks.

Recently President Bush asked the Saudis to increase production. For those who need it put simpler, that means increase supply. What does supply have to do with the price of gas? Increasing the supply of oil drives down the price of gas; the more the supply the lower the price.

So when and how did we vote for high gas prices? Well, the Liberals, Enviro-extremists, Liberal judges, yes, mostly Democrats and a few Republicans, blocked drilling in Alaska, blocked drilling off our shores, and we agreed with it. Clinton and Lundsford win big for Democrats while McConnell and Northup also have large margin victories.

Exit polls in Kentucky found that more than half of Clinton supporters will not vote for Obama in the fall.  This should give Democrats pause at their upcoming convention.  Democrats fear that in a national election, Obama will have a very different result.
