U.S. Senate candidate Jack Conway is nowhere to be found while the Courier-Journal is keeping silent about his silence. The CJ is apparently too busy doing Conway’s work attacking Rand Paul on a daily basis. Sources say Conway doesn’t like campaigning and hanging out with commoners. Mandy Connell, host of WHAS radios morning show, stated today that Conway will not come on her show despite numerous attempts by her show to have him on. Read more

KET Republican Debate
Filed Under Kentucky | Leave a Comment
Kentucky Tonight had a debate of sorts with the Republican Primary candidates. Unfortunately Bill Goodman made the mistake of including Gurley Martin and John Stephenson on the stage which only detracted from the serious debate between Rand Paul and Trey Grayson. The interaction between Grayson and Paul was fairly confrontational in the beginning with Grayson appearing like a fighter who was desperately trying to throw punches after getting up off the canvas just short of the full count. Grayson was at least consistent with his entire campaign lodging the same dishonest accusations against Dr. Paul. Paul responded by reminding the audience that even Dr. James Dobson reversed his endorsement of Grayson over to Paul after learning that he had been lied to about Dr. Paul’s position on abortion. It finally came to a head when Dr. Paul defended his life-long pro-life position against Grayson’s repeated false accusations, “…when you know it’s a lie and you continue doing it because you desperately need this job so bad that you will lie to try and get it,” put an end to it.
Throughout the program Paul was thoughtful and reasoned in his answers and Grayson was petulant like a teenager. It was clear that there was only one Senator on the stage – Rand Paul.

Bunning Bids Farewell to RPK
Filed Under Kentucky | Leave a Comment
Last night the Republican Party of Kentucky’s annual dinner was a tribute to Senator Jim Bunning who will be retiring at the end of this year at the age of 79. The crowd was reminded of what a wonderful life Jim Bunning has had. Rarely does one man get to rise to the top in two different fields as Bunning did. He started his career as a Hall of Fame major league baseball pitcher for 27 years with the distinction of being the only pitcher to throw a no-hitter in both the National and American Leagues. For the last 30 years he has served the public, now completing two terms as U.S. Senator from Kentucky. Read more

Sara Palin Meets with Cathy Bailey
Filed Under Kentucky, News | Leave a Comment
Sara Palin is meeting with Cathy Bailey (former Ambassador to Latvia) today prior to Governor Palin’s speech in Louisville this evening. It would not be uncommon for Governor Palin to meet with Ambassador Bailey. Upon her return from Latvia, Cathy Bailey successfully ran the Kentucky McCain/Palin Victory fundraising effort in 2008. In light of the Bailey tragedy on Christmas Day, it would also make sense for the former Governor and Vice Presidential candidate to want to express her condolences. They both share common interests, both women who continue to be or have been in the national spotlight and both share a common interest in electing true conservatives, plus they are mom’s. But is there anything else that might be on that agenda??
